Meet Antone

Antone Mercurio

Financial Advisor

Antone has been interested in business and investing from an early age.  Born and raised in Monterey into a commercial fishing family, Antone is no stranger to long hours and hard work.  He began fishing in Bristol Bay in Alaska at age 14 with his grandfather, who was considered a “highliner” among local fisherman.  With the money made in Bristol Bay he funded his first stock purchase, Hewlett Packard.

After graduating from California State University, Sacramento, and a brief stint with the Department of Defense, Antone went to work in the investment business at the Wall Street firm of Dean Witter Reynolds.  His first months were spent learning the business from the 16th floor of the World Trade Center in Manhattan.  The people he met, and those that taught him the business, made a lasting impression on him.  Every few years he feels compelled to go back and visit Ground Zero.

In 2019, after 24 years in the business working with individuals, business owners and their families he went out on his own and started his firm, Antone Mercurio LLC.  His goal was to offer independent advice in the areas of investment, retirement, financial and estate planning.  He describes his business as part numbers business and part hospitality.  He says, “We all have the same tools when it comes to serving our clients.  It really comes down to trust, integrity and service.  And clients are best served when their financial advisor, attorney and CPA are on the same page and work together.”  Antone holds the CERTIFIED FINACIAL PLANNER certification and the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations.

Antone and his wife, Gretchen, live along the Highway 68 corridor on the Monterey Peninsula.  They love being part of the community and feel it has been a great place to raise their four sons: Matthew, Michael, Antone and Eli.  Antone and Gretchen are very active in their sons’ lives and supportive of them in their activities in and out of school.  In his free time, he enjoys travel with his wife and kid’s, attending his sons’ Matthew and Eli’s football games at Villanova University and Palma High School, going to gym with his son Michael, assisting his son Antone start a business and community service.  He’s also thinking about giving golf a second chance.
